The village hall once had a flowering cherry, what a display it put on this year.

That was not enough to save it from the chainsaws.

The tree had a broken limb, all agreed it was dangerous and had to be removed. The top interfered with the BT wires, these too were hacked.

A week later the whole tree was felled "aye it was rotten" ... but could you really tell before you felled it? What was wrong with the rhododendron, that it had to suffer a similar fate?

The tree was gifted to the village and has to be replaced, maybe once the renovations have been completed ... after all we dont want a hall that looks as clinical as Balbeggie.

It certainly was a beautiful tree when in bloom.
Agree it should be replaced with an appropriate tree, or 2, so long as it doesn't grow too high to interfere with BT wires and suffer the same fate as the flowering cherry!!
